Amanda started exploring the dance of the orient in her home country Australia in 1996, finding herself performing a duo after only 2 months. Following her passion to truly feel the dance she headed for London where her teacher discovered Raqs Sharqi. Inspirational teachers encouraged Amanda to interpret different music with emotional expression, from the heart not the hips! Performances began with collaboration Id Spiral’s Mellout at Subterania, and Sahara Nights, to Synergy. Exploring festivals and other venues in the East of London include Electric Showrooms, Rhythm Factory, and more than 2yrs and ongoing at Cargo, Shoreditch.
